On behalf of the staff and School Council I would like to thank you for taking an interest in our school. We want our new families to have a long and happy association with the Elwood Primary School community.  Our School prides itself in nurturing the social, emotional and academic needs of all students. We believe that these needs are best met when the educational partnership between the parents, the students and the school is truly valued.  Located in Scott Street Elwood and established in 1917, Elwood Primary School is in a period of growth with a present population of 780 students. High value is placed on our interaction with the broader community and this is reflected in school programs.

Our school zone is available on findmyschool.vic.gov.au which hosts the most up-to-date information about Victorian school zones.

Students residing in this zone are guaranteed a place at our school, which is determined on the basis of your permanent residential address.

The Department provides guidance through the Placement Policy to ensure that students have access to their designated neighbourhood school and the freedom to choose other schools, subject to facility limitations.

DET Enrolment Management Policy entails a specific order of priority for enrolments

• Students residing within our school zone (see above)
• Students residing at the same address as an older sibling who is attending the school
• If additional places are available – the following criteria applies :
• Other students from outside the designated area, in order of closeness of the home to the school.
• In exceptional circumstances, students may be enrolled where there are significant extenuating family or individual circumstances.

 Additional documentation required to support Enrolment documentation :

• child's birth certificate
• medicare immunisation certificate
• current utility bill (either electricity or gas account)
• signatures from BOTH parents

This form only needs to be completed by families who are OUTSIDE the school zone.  Elwood Primary School will notify you to make a formal offer of enrolment if this is possible and will request a completed Student Enrolment Form at this time.
