Grade Three in the Kitchen Garden Program
We have had a great term so far in the garden and kitchen. Our main focus has been on Science and Technology.
Some of the investigations Grade Threes have been learning from are about the creatures that live in our garden, seasonality and what this has to do with our place in space, and changes that occur in foods.
By term two we have developed excellent teamwork and skills. We all have our wheelbarrow licenses, have tried most garden jobs and are able to recognise many of the plants that grow in our garden.
We are more confident chopping and cutting and are becoming independent in our approach to new skills. Some of the foods we have made this term include polenta chips with salsa, calzone, potato and rosemary pizza, pumpkin soup, corn and spinach quiches and rhubarb and apple muffins.
