Arrival procedure

Enter Poets Grove from Tennyson Street (Melways Ref 67C2) and queue at the gate for check-in.

Arrive no later than the time specified on your letter of confirmation. For your convenience gates open at 6.30 am.

A limited amount of stalls allow cars to be parked on site with stalls, all other cars need to be moved after unloading and parked in the stall holder car park. No exceptions.

Please be extra considerate and observant when arriving. On Market Days ONLY special permission has been granted from the City Of Port Phillip to change  the direction of Poets Grove.

While queuing please respect our neighbours, do not block driveways, keep noise and  conversations to a minimum and contained in a vehicle not in the street. Non- compliance with these instructions may result in the stallholder being removed from the queue & market permanently.

A booked site will be forfeited if the stallholder has not contacted the  market co-ordinator by 8.00 am.

Stallholders Responsibility

Elwood Primary School grounds are a nut free zone.

The market committee requests that all traders are responsible, fair and respectful to all patrons of all ages to the market.

Only goods as agreed with the market coordinator upon booking may be sold on market day.

We are an all weather market. Most sites at the market are in the open air. Any tents/shelters or tables/trestles required are the stallholders responsibility and must be secured at all times. No refunds will be given on the day due to bad weather.

For the safety of market patrons cars with allocated parking on site may not be moved from or within the market areas between the advertised hours of operation. The driver shall be totally and legally responsible for parking and movement of the vehicle.

No dogs are allowed in the market unless on a leash.

Stallholders are responsible for complying with all laws, rules and regulations relating to the goods offered for sale. Counterfeit or copied goods must NOT be sold.

All stallholders must take away all unsold items, boxes, paper and wrappings. The market is staffed by parent volunteers from the school community. We do not have the man power or rubbish facilities to dispose of your unwanted items.

For the safety and welfare of our  customers the Committee of Management does NOT allow banned or dangerous substances, string in a can or bag bombs to be sold. The Committee of Management holds the right for a stallholder to cease selling items deemed  inappropriate or dangerous.

Stalls can be relocated without notice at the discretion of Market management.

Cancellations

If you are unable to attend, and call or email the market coordinator the Wednesday prior to market day, a credit will be issued for another market date. The credit will expire if not used in the same year.

Re-booking a market is subject to availability.

If you do not advise the market coordinator of your cancellation by the Wednesday prior to market day your payment will be forfeited and your site made available to the market wait list.

No refunds are available on stall bookings.

The market is a fundraiser for Elwood Primary School and we need to maximize bookings at every market.

New Adverse Weather Policy (As of March 5th 2011):

No refunds/credits are given for the cancellation of markets due to adverse weather conditions by the stallholder and/or Market Committee, 100% of funds raised from stall rental goes to Elwood Primary School.

The Market Committee is not responsible for adverse weather conditions so there are no refunds for this reason.

The Market Committee will not be held responsible for any loss, damage or injury whatsoever resulting from adverse weather conditions.

In the case of very extreme and adverse weather conditions resulting in cancellation of a market stall holders will be notified via SMS and a message will be posted on the market phone.
